Six candidates have filed for seats on the Warrenton Board of Aldermen, creating races in the city’s three wards.

Candidate filing for the April 2 municipal election opened Tuesday. The filing period will close Jan. 15.

In Ward 1, Karen Casserly, 417 Chantilly Court, and Ron Jurgesmeyer, 304 State Highway U, are seeking the seat currently held by Phil Tallo.

Scott Costello, 522 Shilling Oaks Drive, and Gary Auch, 302 Steinhagen Road, are seeking election as Ward 2 alderman.

Costello is the son of former Warrenton Mayor Greg Costello.

Auch previously served 20 years as a Warrenton alderman. Prior to the city’s ward boundaries being redrawn, Auch represented Ward 3.

Beth Kendall is the current Ward 2 alderman whose seat is on the ballot.

Incumbent John Clark, 114 Kent Court, is seeking re-election to his seat as Ward 3 alderman. He will face Donald Broering, 1 Isaac Drive.

The terms of Tallo and Kendall will expire in April. It is not known if either incumbent will seek re-election.

Candidates will be listed on their respective election ballots in order of filing.

Wright City

Two incumbents filed Tuesday for re-election to their seats in Wright City.

Dan Rowden, 542 Indian Lake Drive, is running for alderman in Ward 1.

Jim Toothman, 6 Thoroughbred Drive, is seeking re-election to his seat in Ward 2.

Truesdale

Only one candidate submitted a declaration of candidacy Tuesday for one of three seats on the municipal election ballot.

Incumbent Mayor Murray Bruer, 109 Pinckey Street, is running for another two-year term.

Currently, there are no candidates for the two seats for alderman-at-large. Aldermen in Truesdale do not serve specific wards.

Marthasville

Incumbent Mayor Jason Schantz, 250 Hillside Lane, is seeking re-election in Marthasville.

There were no filings reported for the board of aldermen in either Ward 1 or Ward 2 at press time.
