Man Receives Life Sentence for Molesting Girl
By Tim Schmidt, Record Editor
The Missourian
A 62-year-old Warren County man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced last week for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.
Danny E. Bradbury, of the 31000 block of Palmyra Road, Warrenton, was sentenced to life in prison on a felony charge of enticement of a child. He also received a 30-year sentence for statutory sodomy and 15 years for first-degree child molestation, both felonies.
All three sentences, handed down by 12th Judicial Circuit Presiding Judge Keith Sutherland, will run consecutively.
Prosecutor Mike Wright said Bradbury should spend the remaining years of his life in prison, though he will be eligible for parole several years down the road.
“I think it was the appropriate sentence,” Wright told The Record. “But it doesn’t take away what he did to the young girl. It’s my hope he never has the opportunity to do it to anyone again and he dies in prison.”
In February, Bradbury withdrew his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to all three felony charges.
Warren County deputies began an investigation into the sexual abuse allegations on April 17, 2011. Three days later, detectives interviewed the girl who told them that Bradbury had touched her inappropriately. The sexual contact occurred, the girl said, on the night of April 15 or in the early morning hours of April 16 at Bradbury’s residence in the 31000 block of Palmyra Road.
The girl told detectives Bradbury told her to come to his bedroom after another person in the home fell asleep, according to authorities. She was 10 at the time of the abuse.
