This 2001 Dodge Avenger left Highway 47 near College Road Monday morning after the driver became distracted when a spider landed on his shoulder, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report. David L. Nipper, 23, St. Clair, became distracted and lost control of the vehicle while driving northbound at 10:35 a.m. The car left the road, struck a concrete retaining wall, became airborne over a driveway and landed on its top, the patrol said. Nipper was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by Union Ambulance. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said
