Woman Hurt When Car Strikes Tree
A Union woman was injured Sunday, Aug. 12, when the car she was driving swerved to miss a car in her lane then struck a tree.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report, Amanda M. McCoy, 22, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on Highway UU south of Highway 50 at 9:21 a.m. when she swerved to miss a car in her lane.
McCoy lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree.
She was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by Union Ambulance. She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
