There are no suspects in Wednesday’s armed robbery at Phillips 66 Petro-Mart on East Main Street.

Assistant Union Police Chief Kyle Kitcher said authorities still are investigating and reviewing surveillance footage of the incident in which a man made off with just over $200 in cash.

“The video from the robbery is being analyzed and enhanced,” he said.

Authorities said the store clerk was cleaning at 2:20 a.m. when a man wearing a dark coat with a hood pulled over his face came into the store, took a handgun from his pocket and ordered the clerk to open the cash drawer.

The clerk opened the drawer and the man took the cash, then fled on foot, Union police said.

The clerk said he only saw the man’s hands and he believes the suspect is a black male, police said.

Kitcher added that authorities have not confirmed that the man was black, but could have had dark skin.

He noted that the clerk followed store procedure during the robbery.

The store is located north of the McDonald’s restaurant.
