Former U.S. Sen. Jean Carnahan to Visit Scenic Regional

Jean Carnahan, the first lady of Missouri from 1993-2000 and U.S. senator 2001-2002, will be at Scenic Regional Library for a book signing on Wednesday, July 11, from 6:30-8 p.m. 

Carnahan was born in Washington, D.C., where she met Mel Carnahan whose father was representing Missouri in the U.S. Congress.

Both Jean and Mel graduated from George Washington University and, after they were married, returned to Missouri where they served the people of the state for many years.Carnahan has written six books.

Three will be available for purchase at the book signing, “Don’t Let the Fire Go Out “(2004), “The Tide Always Comes Back” (2009), and her new book “A Little Help From My Friends...and Other Tales of Graying Graciously” (2012).
