The crowds at the city pool have been up and down early this season due to changing weather.
“We were crowded the first weekend, but this week the numbers are low because it has been cooler,” said Kate Schroeder, pool manager.
The pool will be open from noon to 6 p.m. daily, except Tuesdays and Thursdays when the pool opens at 12:30 p.m. Admission is $4 and children 2 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.
Punch cards are available at the pool or at the parks and recreation department in the lower level of city hall. The cost of a punch card is $35 for 20 visits to the pool.
The Splash-N-Swimplex is available for rent Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7-10 p.m., however many of those slots already are filled, park officials said.
Some changes this year include a “tot time” for children ages 5 and under who swim for free in Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. The cost os $1 for adults who are with the children.
There also is a lap swim Saturdays and Sundays from 10-11:30 a.m. at the cost of $1.
The pool will close at 4 p.m. both July 2 and July 9 for swim meets.

There are now firmer age restrictions for those who can be unsupervised at the pool. Now, children aged 7 and under must be supervised by someone who is 12 years or older. In the past, the rules stated children had to be at least 8 years to be at the pool without adult supervision, but the rules did not list the age of those supervising younger children.
A Senior Swim will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also during those times, there will be “tot time” in the shallow area of the pool for children ages 3 and under. The cost is $1 per child.
Swim lessons will be available at the cost of $40 per child for a two-week session. There will be morning or evening sessions.

A second session will be held July 17 through Aug. 9.
