Union Man Ejected From Truck Bed, Injured
A Union man was seriously injured Early Saturday in a crash on Denmark Road east of Fairway Drive, according to Union police.
Kevin Babb, 19, was a passenger in a pickup driven by Matthew Lauber, 17, Union, that left the road, struck a ditch and became airborne, police said.
After the truck hit the ground, Babb was ejected from the bed of the truck and landed in the grass. The vehicle then struck a fence and went into a field, police said.
Babb was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington, and later taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, according to police.
Two other teens were passengers in the vehicle but were not injured. The driver also was unharmed, police said.
