City officials are expecting a good turnout this Saturday for the annual Founders Day event at the city park.
Union Parks and Recreation Director Kevin Arand said the temperatures will be much more mild this year, which should attract families to the all-day event.
“We are looking forward to great weather, which is a big change from the past two years,” he said. “I am hoping this will bring people out.”
Saturday’s activities will begin with the Founders Day 10K Run and 5K Fun Walk sponsored by the Union Area Chamber of Commerce.
Runners will take their marks at 7:30 a.m.
Friday, June 1, there will be a concert in the park featuring Daniel Swan who will perform from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The event is part of the family night concert series and will be held in the large pavilion.
