The Word of Life Church of the Nazarene, Union, will be giving back to the community through a program that features a “Work and Witness” team.

There will be 30 teens and their sponsors from the Kansas City Central Church of the Nazarene who will be in Union July 9-13 to conduct various project throughout the community.

The help, which is free of charge, includes landscaping, cleaning garages, cleaning out houses, painting — inside and out — and many other possibilities, such as picking up trash or collecting food for a local food pantry.

The team can do most things that does not include skilled labor, and the church may be able to help offset projects depending on the cost and scope of the projects.

Church leaders are now seeking projects for the team. Those interested may contact the church at 636-583-2128, or visit the church website at www.unionwordoflife.org and click on the “work and witness” tab.

The team leader is Malorri Seamon, who is married to former Union resident Raymond Seamon. She can be reached via email at mseamon@kccentral.org, or at 636-388-1992.

She is a youth pastor at the Central Church of the Nazarene. The church youth website is www.kccentral.org/#/ministries/students.

Organizers are looking to plan projects as soon as possible and encourage residents to contact the church with project requests or questions.
