A Washington woman was arrested Monday after police responded to a house in the 1000 block of Locust Street.

According to Chief Ken Hahn, officers responded to a call from a man who said his sister was pointing a handgun at him.

Hahn said it wasn’t the first time Washington police have responded to calls at the home.

He said the man was recently released from the hospital, where he had been placed under a psychiatric hold following a different domestic incident at the residence last week.

Officers said they found a handgun in the home, confiscated the weapon and took the woman into custody.

The names of the suspect and the victim were not released since charges are still pending with the Franklin County prosecuting attorney’s office.
