Wright City police are looking for the man who robbed the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Wright City Wednesday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Wright City Det. Sergeant  Tim Matthews said a white male, approximately six feet tall, and in his late 50s to early 60s, walked into the bank and handed a  teller a note that read: "This is a hold up. Put the cash from your drawer in the envelope. Do not hit any alarms."

According to Matthews, the man then told the teller he was in possession of a firearm. The teller placed an undisclosed amount of cash in the envelope the suspect provided. The suspect took the envelope and his note and exited through the south door of the bank.

Matthews said the man was wearing a blue polo shirt, blue jacket and blue jeans during the robbery. He also wore  white tennis shoes, sunglasses and a red baseball cap with the letters "BC" on it. He was described as clean shaven.

Matthews said anyone with information regarding the suspect should contact him at 636-745-3541.
