Two Audrain County Men Facing Felony Charges in Memorial Day Weekend Beating
Two Audrain County men accused of beating another man are facing felony charges in Franklin County.
Randall D. Hays, 22, and Christopher S. Dunn, 30, both of Mexico, are charged with one count each of first-degree assault — serious physical injury. Their bonds were set at $50,000.
According to a probable cause statement filed in court, the two men allegedly assaulted Jeremy Northam, Belleville, Ill., on Sunday, May 27, on the Meramec River near Sullivan.
A Missouri Water Patrol trooper reported that Northam was struck several times in the head and that he was held underwater.
The man was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital at Sullivan where he was treated for severe injuries to his head, according to the probable cause statement.
