A Louisiana man was killed early Saturday when the tractor-trailer he was driving overturned on Interstate 44.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report, Diaael D. Saker, 25, of Kenner, La., was driving a 2012 Kenworth tractor trailer eastbound on I-44 at 4:50 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and overturned.

The crash occurred at the 248.6 mile marker of I-44. The interstate was shut down for several hours Saturday.

Also involved in the crash were a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Billy R. Wells, 42, Rolla; and a 2001 Nissan Sentra driven by Roxanne C. Rath. Both drivers attempted to stop the vehicles, but slid into the Saker tractor-trailer.

Wells, Rath and Felix D. Smith, 51, of Pasadena, Calif., were taken to Mercy Hospital Washington with injuries.
