Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke said a deputy arrested a man Friday night following a robbery at the Flying J truckstop at Sullivan.

Toelke said the deputy responded to a report of a man flourishing a knife at another man along Interstate 44 near Highway 185.

He said the suspect turned on the deputy when the officer ordered the man to drop the knife. The deputy drew his weapon and the man surrendered.

Toelke said the suspect earlier went into the truckstop, flourished a knife at a cashier, grabbed some money and ran out.

The witness then ran after the suspect and confronted him before the officer arrived and took him into custody.

No one was injured in the confrontation.

The suspect was not identified pending charges.
