Warrants were issued Thursday for a Washington man and woman who police say stole roughly $4,000 of property from a State Street home Wednesday.

Washington Police Detective Brad Erisman said warrants were issued for Kenajo Gansmann, 28, and Justin W. Jenkins, 26, both of Washington, on one count of second-degree burglary.

Erisman said additional charges likely will be filed at a later date.

On the single charge, bond has been set for Gansmann and Jenkins at $35,000 each.

Erisman said the arrests came as a result of a lengthy ongoing investigation into thefts in another part of town.

He said police identified some possible suspects, Gansmann and Jenkins, who both have prior criminal histories, and discovered them to be in possession of stolen property.

The owner of the State Street home was notified by police and told investigators that roughly $4,000 in items had been stolen.

Gansmann has previously pled guilty to passing bad checks, theft and possession of a controlled substance. Jenkins has pled guilty previously to felony property damage, passing bad checks, forgery, theft, third-degree assault and resisting arrest.
