Missouri Highway Patrol Says DWI Checkpoints Planned for July

Missouri Highway Patrol Says DWI Checkpoints Planned for July

Capt. Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer, Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces that sometime during the month of July, officers will conduct DWI saturations in Warren, St. Charles, Franklin and Jefferson counties.

The areas selected for enforcement are based on a high number of drinking-related crashes, high number of contacts with drivers who have been drinking, and officers’ input as to probable contact with DWI violators based on officers’ past experiences.

“The intoxicated driver continues to be a major contributor to traffic crashes in Missouri,” said Capt. Johnson. “Almost 25 percent of all fatal crashes are alcohol-related. Please assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol in removing impaired drivers from our roadways by contacting us toll-free 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.”
