MoDOT Begins Lane Closures on I-44 at Antire Road May 29
Motorists who travel Interstate 44 should expect lane closures at Antire Road east of Eureka beginning next week.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and its contractor, Millstone Bangert, will close one lane on eastbound I-44 at Antire Road starting Tuesday, May 29, after the evening rush hour.
One eastbound lane will be closed around the clock until mid-September as part of a pavement repair and resurfacing project on I-44 at Antire Road.
Starting Friday, June 1, crews will close one lane on westbound I-44 at Antire Road around the clock, except between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays for the evening rush hour period.
In addition, the entrance and exit ramps from westbound I-44 to Antire Road will be closed during the month of June.
Drivers heading from Antire Road to westbound I-44 will need to take eastbound I-44 to Route 141 and head back along westbound I-44.
Drivers on westbound I-44 heading to Antire Road will need to take westbound I-44 to Lewis Road, head back on eastbound I-44 and exit at Antire Road. All detours will be marked.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has informed MoDOT that law enforcement will be in this area throughout the construction project to urge motorists to slow down, stay alert and watch out for the highway workers.
