A Franklin County judge has denied a media request to release a video recording of Friday's morning's fatal accident at the Highway 47 and Route 100 intersection.

Sheriff Gary Toelke said a media request was made for the patrol car video under Missouri's Sunshine Law.

A deputy was pursuing what he thought was an intoxicated driver about 12:04 a.m.  northbound on Highway 47.

The driver, a 13-year-old Union girl, accelerated while attempting to elude the deputy, according to reports.

The Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck she was driving slammed into a car on Highway 100. The driver of the car, a 17-year-old Washington girl, died later at a St. Louis Hospital.
