State, Local Road Projects Included in New Regional Transportation Improvement Plan

There are several projects within Franklin County that will be presented for final approval on the draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) under consideration by the East-West Gateway (EWGW) Council of Governments.

EWGW representatives and Missouri Department of Transportation engineers Wednesday attended an open house meeting on the 2013-2016 TIP Wednesday at the Franklin County Government Center, Union.

The EWGW board of directors are expected to make a final decision on the projects during its July 25 meeting.

Following are all new projects in Franklin County, including the agency that applied for the grants, the total costs and a breakdown of local matches and federal grants:

• Franklin County, off system repairs for deficient bridges — total cost of $1,420,026 with a federal grant of $1,047,115 and a local match of $261,779;

• Franklin County, Shawnee Ford Road bridge over the Bourbeuse River — total cost of $1,570,000 with a federal grant of $1,256,000 and a local match of $261,779;

• Franklin County Transportation Council, operating and administrative funding — total cost of $691,600 with a federal grant of $180,000 and a local match of $511,600;

• Franklin County Transportation Council, vehicle acquisitor — total cost of $94,914 with a federal grant of $75,931 and a local match of $18,983;

• Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Highway MM in Gray Summit intersection improvements —  total cost of $495,000 with a federal grant of $428,400, a state match of $105,000 and a local match of $1,809,432;

• MoDOT, Highway 47 over Flat Creek in Union — total cost of $4,599,000 with a federal grant of $3,667,200 and a state match of $916,800;

• MoDOT, Highway A pavement, shoulder and curve improvements — total cost of $4,085,000 with a state match of $3,968,000;

• MoDOT, Highway AJ St. John’s Creek bridge improvements — total cost of $611,000 with a federal grant of $457,600 and a state match of $114,400;

• MoDOT, Highway AT from Highway 50 to Highway 100 pavement improvements — total cost of $2,106,000 with a state match of $2,021,000;

• MoDOT, Highways T, V and MM safety improvements at various locations — total cost of $596,000 with a federal grant of $519,300 and a state match of $57,700;

• MoDOT, Highway YY over St. John’s Creek and Whiskey Creek bridge improvements —  total cost of $2,177,000 with a federal grant of $1,720,000 and a state match of $430,000;

• New Haven, Miller Street Phase 4 reconstruction from Maiden Lane south — total cost of $853,051 with a federal grant of $682,441 and a local match of $170,610;

• Pacific, Highway N Phase 3 Hawthorne Drive to Fourth Street resurfacing — total cost of $988,347 with a federal grant of $790,677  and a local match of $197,670;

• Pacific, Old Gray Summit Road Phase 2 from Highway N to the west city limits resurfacing and widening — total cost of $826,489 with a federal grant of $197,670 and a local match of $197,670;

• Union, Judith Spring Road bridge replacement — total cost of $556,326 with a federal grant of $445,060 and a local match of $111,266;

• Union,  Prairie Dell Road Phase 2 widening from Prairie Dell Plaza Drive to College Road — total cost of $1,352,250 with a federal grant of $1,081,800 and a local match of $270,450; and

• Washington, Lafayette pedestrian crossing across the Union Pacific Railroad — total cost of $300,000 with a federal grant of $240,000 and a local match of $60,000.
