RICHWOODS, Mo. (AP) — The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation is calling it quits.

The foundation says in a posting on its Facebook page that it is no longer able to devote the time and resources necessary to keep going.

The foundation was started by the family of Shawn Hornbeck in his hometown of Richmond, Mo., soon after the boy went missing in 2002.

More than four years later, Shawn was found along with another missing boy in the suburban St. Louis apartment of pizzeria worker Michael Devlin. Devlin is now serving multiple life sentences.

The foundation assisted in searches for missing kids, helped with digital identification and other child ID projects.
