ST. LOUIS (AP) — A chain of six carpet and tile stores is closing in the St. Louis area, and that means the end of some campy and iconic TV ads.

KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/LyvKoq ) reports that Becky's Carpet and Tile is shutting down all six stores. About 30 employees will lose their jobs. Some customer orders won't be filled. Owner Becky Rothman sent hand-written letters to those who have paid but not yet received their product, stating they will get refunds.

TV ads for years have featured Rothman on a magic carpet above the Gateway Arch, calling herself Becky the queen of carpet.

The company previously had a location in Washington, located near the intersection of Highway 100 and Bluff Road in the former Why Pay More building. The Washington store opened in 2005 but closed several years ago.
