Police in Palmyra Looking for Kangaroos
Associated Press |
PALMYRA, Mo. (AP) — Authorities in the northeast Missouri town of Palmyra are on the lookout for kangaroos.
Really.
Palmyra police received a call Tuesday after someone spotted what appeared to be kangaroos hopping around a street a few blocks from U.S. 61. Two city officers and two Marion County deputies searched the area but found no trace of any exotic animals — especially those native to Australia.
Authorities believe the caller may have spotted deer and mistook them for kangaroos. Then again, an exotic animal show is taking place this week in another northeast Missouri town so police say they aren't taking anything for granted.
