Students and staff at Lonedell School cast their votes for president of the United States on Election Day Tuesday. Teachers said they decided to conduct the mock election to give the youngsters a feel for what it’s like to vote and support a candidate. Here, seventh-grader Taelor Thrash makes her pick in the special voting booth inside the school. At Lonedell, 324 votes were cast with 190 going for Gov. Mitt Romney and 133 for President Barack Obama, who was re-elected on Tuesday in the national election. There also was one Lonedell write-in vote.
