Luebbering Man Killed in Crash
A Luebbering man was killed early Wednesday in a one-vehicle accident in Jefferson County.
The Missouri Highway Patrol stated in its online report that 45-year-old Richard J. Bardot was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:10 a.m. accident on Highway Y near Neal Drive. Bardot was the only individual in the 1995 Mazda Miata at the time of the incident, the patrol stated.
The report stated that Bardot was driving northbound on Highway Y when the Miata crossed the center line. The patrol said Bardot overcorrected, failed to negotiate a left curve in the road, traveled off the right side of the highway and overturned.
He was not wearing a safety belt.
The Miata was totaled.
