Ruth Muehler, flanked by her family, was named a Pioneer of Pacific at the April 26 Chamber annual awards banquet held at the Pacific Eagles Hall. The community volunteer, who, with her late husband Art Muehler, was instrumental in the formation of the Pacific Care Center, American Security Bank and the local genealogy society, continues to chair the city cemetery committee and serve as an officer of both the genealogy society and history museum. Ruth Muehler paid tribute to the people she met in Pacific for inspiring her to work for the past 65 years for local schools, health care, banking, local history and her church.
Mueller gave the short speech as she accepted the Pioneer of Pacific award from the Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce at the April 26 awards banquet at the Pacific Eagles.
