Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce President Mike Minor is resigning because he and his wife Denise are moving out of the city.

He will also resign his position of vice president of Bank Star.

Minor made the announcement at the Thursday, July 12, Chamber of Commerce directors meeting. The general membership was notified in the July 13 Chamber email “Friday Update.”

Minor told fellow directors that it’s with “mixed emotions” that he’s resigning, the Friday Update reported.

The Update also said Minor will leave Bank Star as of July 20. He and his wife Denise will be moving to Tampa, Fla., where Denise Minor has accepted a new job and Mike will seek new employment.

Bill McLaren, former Chamber president, will step in as acting president through the end of 2012.

Nominations are open to Chamber business members to fill Minor’s remaining time on the board of directors.

Any Chamber business member interested in accepting the nomination of fulfilling Minor’s position of directors which runs through the end of 2013, should contact the Chamber office at 636-271-6639 or HYPERLINK “mailto:exdir@pacificchamber.com” exdir@pacificchamber.com.

The deadline to submit nominations is Aug. 1.

Nominations will be presented at the Aug. 9 board of directors meeting. The board will follow bylaws for replacing a board member in the middle of a three-year term.
