State Auditor’s Office Releases Follow-Up Review of Pacific
State Auditor Tom Schweich Friday released the results of the state’s follow-up review of the city of Pacific.
Schweich’s office released its audit of Pacific in November. The city received a “good” rating with several areas of concern prompting the activation of Schweich’s follow-up team.
In February 2011, Schweich announced the creation of the Auditor’s Follow-up Team to Effect Recommendations (AFTER) to ensure audit recommendations are implemented in a timely manner.
The state auditor’s office works with audited entities to establish a reasonable time line for the implementation of audit recommendations, with a particular focus on those findings requiring immediate management attention.
Members of AFTER returned to Pacific and assigned a status for each of the following recommendations:
Legal Services — Implemented.
Cost Analysis — Implemented.
Dispersal of City Property — Implemented.
Sewer Rates — Implemented.
Senior Center — Implemented.
As part of the follow-up program, the state auditor’s office will publish an annual status report to track implementation of audit recommendations. To view the complete follow-up audit report of Pacific, visit http://www.auditor.mo.gov/Press/2012-31.pdf.
