Sixteen School District Staff Members Retire

Sixteen Meramec Valley R-III school district employees have retired at the end of this school year.

Retirees leave the ranks of every segment of the district from bus drivers and maintenance workers, to cooks, food cashiers, teachers and administrators.

The MVR-III board honored the retirees at the May 16 meeting with Superintendent Randy George reading each name, department and years of service.

The two longest standing employees to retire are Lanie Troutman and Janet Hubbard, each with 30 years of service in the district.

Troutman was a cook at Coleman Elementary School.

Hubbard, who retires as assistant superintendent, also has served as teacher, school board member and administrator.

Other retirees are as follows.

Bobby Newton, transportation department bus driver, six years of service.

Barbara Wright, Meramec Valley Early Childhood Center staff assistant, five years of service.

Thomas “Gene” Miles, transportation department bus driver, eight years with the district.

Sandy Mantz, Coleman Elementary School cook, nine years of service.

Becky Hart, Pacific High School food service cashier, 11 years with the district.

James Worth, maintenance department electrician, 17 years.

Donna Rivera, transportation department bus driver, 19 years.

Thomas Kolb, Meramec Valley Middle School sixth-grade science teacher with the district for 10 years.

Cathy Bennett, Meramec Valley Community School, Title I preschool teacher, retiring after 14 years.

Mary Niehoff, PHS family and consumer science teacher with the district for 18 years.

Mike Hall, PHS industrial arts teacher, retiring after 19 years.

Cathy Damico, Riverbend School special education teacher, 20 years.

Linda Andrae, Riverbend School eighth-grade social studies teacher, 23 years.

Wanda Malin, Meramec Valley Middle School and Riverbend School family and consumer science teacher, 27 years with the district.
