Arnette Is Named Acting Board of Aldermen President

Walter Arnette was elected acting president of the board of aldermen at the May 1 city meeting. His term will expire in 2013.

In following action, appointments of the mayor’s committees, authorities, boards and commissions were approved.

Aldermen appointed as standing committee liaisons include Brad Reed, park board; Ed Gass, cemetery committee and Industrial Development Authority; Mike Bates, museum committee; Walter Arnette, tourism commission; and Jerry Eversmeyer, planning and zoning commission.

Operations committee members are Ed Gass, chair, Mike Pigg vice chair, and Jerry Eversmeyer.

Administrative committee members are Mike Bates, chair, Brad Reed, vice chair, and Walter Arnette.

Bill Devine was reappointed to the board of adjustment, with a term to expire 2015.

Matt Agee was reappointed to the planning and zoning board, term to expire 2016.

Thomas Miles was reappointed to the planning and zoning board, term to expire 2016.

Steve Flannery was reappointed to the to park board, term to expire 2015.

Carol Johnson was reappointed to the park board, term to expire 2015.

Bob Myers was reappointed to the cemetery committee, term to expire 2015.

Edith McLaren was reappointed to the cemetery committee, term to expire 2015.

McLaren was reappointed to the museum committee, term to expire 2015.

Ruth Muehler was reappointed to the museum committee, term to expire 2015.

Dennis Oliver was reappointed to the tourism committee, term to expire 2015.

All terms expire in May, following the municipal elections for that year.
