This Friday's episode of the TV show “Deadly Women,” which airs on the Investigative Discovery channel, will feature an interview with Marc Houseman, director of the Washington Historical Society Museum in Washington, about Bertha Gifford, a Franklin County resident who was charged with poisoning people with arsenic and tried in 1928 at the courthouse in Union.

The episode, “Malicious Hearts,” will air at 10 p.m.

Gifford's story has become popular in recent years, to the point of being featured on TV once before on a “Ghost Hunters” program.

The Missourian did a feature story on Gifford back in 2005. You can read that article "A True Franklin County Horror Story" here.
