Augusta Bottoms Consort will perform at The Riverfront Cultural Society in New Haven Saturday, March 22, at 8 p.m.
The four-piece group lives near the fertile bottomland fields of the Missouri River in Augusta. Lyrics and the band’s melodic and harmonic blend reflect their long relationships as friends. The group has played together for more than 20 years.
Members of Augusta Bottoms Consort include Gloria Attoun (Bauermeister), Michael Bauermeister, Paul Ovaitt and Rebecca Mayer. They bring to the stage guitars, mandolins, dobro, accordion, banjo, acoustic bass, recorder, panpipes, harmonica, percussion and lots of other gadgets.
Augusta Bottoms Consort is listed in the “Grolier’s Book of Knowledge” under Folk Music.
The Riverfront Cultural Society is a nonprofit organization founded in the fall of 2005 and operates completely by an all-volunteer staff. The purpose of the organization is to provide a place for folks to gather to hear music and enjoy a variety of cultural activities related to the arts.
