CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — Cape Girardeau will get a part in the movie "Gone Girl."
The film's producer, Cean Chaffin, says about half of the movie will be filmed in the southeast Missouri city. Filming is scheduled to start Sunday and last about five weeks.
Chaffin said Tuesday several locations were scouted and Cape Girardeau offered the best site for the filming. The film stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Tyler Perry and Neil Patrick Harris.
The Southeast Missourian reports (http://bit.ly/19H05fx ) the filming will disrupt traffic in some locations. Some residents will be hired as extras and Southeast Missouri State graduates will work on the production.
Chaffin says the rest of the movie will be shot on stage sets in Los Angeles. The film is scheduled to be released sometime next year.
