Franklin County deputies are looking to question two men about a possible abduction attempt north of Gerald Thursday afternoon.

A 12-year-old girl told deputies she was walking in the 3800 block of Pin Oak Road about 1:20 p.m. when two men in a pickup truck stopped and offered her a ride. She refused.

The men then drove off but returned and again offered to drive her wherever she wanted to go, according to the sheriff’s report. She again declined but they persisted and kept asking her to get into the truck. After several more refusals, the suspects drove off and were last seen headed south on Pin Oak Road.

The driver was described as being bald. The passenger was said to be thin with dark shaggy hair. Both men were said to be wearing reflective work shirts or vests. They were in a full-size, white pickup truck with two wide blue stripes on the sides.

Deputies have identified one of the suspects, according to the report. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 636-583-2560.
