Ultralight Aircraft Crash Landing Near Villa Ridge +VIDEO
The pilot walked away from this crash Wednesday morning shortly before 11 a.m.
The ultralight aircraft reportedly struck some power lines and crash-landed on Old Highway 100 near Mary Lane near Villa Ridge. The pilot’s identity was not available as The Missourian was going to press.
Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke told The Missourian that the man was flying and hit electrical wires near a power substation near Mary Lane.
Toelke said the man laid on the pavement of Old Highway 100 for a while. When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, the man complained of back pain, but walked away from the scene. The man lives near the crash site, Toelke said.
No wires or poles were down at the scene of the crash. Some people in the area reported power outages for a brief time.
Missouri State Highway Patrol, Boles Fire Protection District and Franklin County Sheriff deputies as well Ameren Missouri crews were on the scene.
