A Franklin County man was killed Monday night when the car he was driving ran off the road and struck a tree off of Highway H, south of Gerald.
Gregory A. Goocher, 48, Sullivan, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.
The patrol said Goocher was southbound on Route H in a 1996 Dodge van when he lost control. The van ran off the right side of the road, struck the tree and overturned, landing on its top, according to the preliminary patrol report. The tree then fell on the van.
Goocher was wearing a safety belt, the patrol reported.
The 7:25 p.m. crash happened south of Red Oak Road.
