Meth Lab Components Seized

Franklin County Sheriff's Cpl. Scott Briggs, right, and Det.  Kody Lucas examine components, including a 2-liter 7-Up bottle used as a collector, of a methamphetamine lab that was found at 1624 Green Tree Acres north of Lonedell Tuesday afternoon.

Franklin County narcotics detectives arrested five people Tuesday afternoon at a home in the Robertsville/Lonedell area.

Officers reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. that they found an active meth lab was in operation in a back bedroom at the home off Green Tree Acres, a cul-de-sac road east of Highway N.

At that time crews were waiting for firefighters to respond to monitor air levels inside the house before they began dismantling the active lab.

Detectives went to the home to inquire about pseudoephedrine pill purchases that had been made by one of the suspects. When they arrived they smelled a strong chemical odor and then found the lab.

One suspect was identified as Jason Vogel who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to Detective Sgt. Scott Briggs. Vogel and several other people lived at the home.

Names of the other suspects, two men and two women, were not released pending formal charges being filed.
