UPDATED: Authorities have charged a Washington man suspected of stealing items from a number of vehicles, most of them in the Quail Run subdivision, last weekend.
A warrant issued Thursday afternoon in Franklin County Circuit Court charges Tyler R. Anderson, 22, with one count of felony stealing in the incidents.
Sgt. Paul Kesterson arrested Anderson about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after responding to a report of a man and woman acting suspicious at the Fas Trip station on East Fifth Street. The officer stopped the suspects’ vehicle in the 1300 block of East Fifth and questioned the man who is known to police and is wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Police Chief Kan Hahn said during the arrest, Kesterson located numerous items, including several GPS units, that matched ones reported stolen.
The man confessed to stealing the items and took Kesterson to an address on Lafayette Street where additional stolen items were recovered, according to Hahn.
