JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Jay Nixon Wednesday appointed Jennifer A. Bartlett, of Marthasville, as the new Prosecuting Attorney for Warren County. She will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of former Prosecuting Attorney Michael S. Wright as Associate Circuit Judge for Warren County.
Bartlett, a Republican, has served as the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Franklin County since 2002. Her experience in that position has included serving as lead counsel in several first-degree murder and other serious felony cases.
Bartlett also is the treatment court prosecutor for Franklin County, where she assists in developing guidelines and protocol for the treatment courts, and assisted the drug court team with the implementation of DWI court.
Prior to serving in Franklin County, Bartlett was the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Warren County from 2000 to 2002 and a State Public Defender from 1999 to 2000. From 2001 to 2011, she was an instructor at the Eastern Missouri Law Enforcement Academy. Bartlett earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Missouri.
“Jennifer Bartlett has more than 13 years of law enforcement experience as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, and I am pleased to appoint her to serve as the new prosecutor for Warren County,” Gov. Nixon said.
