A high-speed police pursuit that started in Franklin County shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday ended in the Eureka area where the suspect was wounded in a shootout with police officers.

Officers eventually blocked the suspect's vehicle in a yard and the man got into the gun battle with a law enforcement officers who wounded him.

The man’s condition was not immediately released, but the sheriff reported that he was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

No police officers were injured in the incident.
