Richard Scheibe, Warrenton, was appointed Wednesday as Warren County’s associate circuit judge by Gov. Jay Nixon.

Scheibe will succeed Wes Dalton who was elected Presiding Circuit Judge of the 12th Judicial Circuit in November.

The 12th Judicial Circuit includes Warren, Montgomery and Audrain counties.

Scheibe currently is the district defender for the Missouri Public Defenders Office in Warren and St. Charles counties.

He has served with the Missouri Public Defenders Office since 1998 and has been a member of several criminal law committees of the Missouri Bar Association.

Scheibe earned his bachelor’s, master’s and law degrees from the University of Missouri.

The current edition of The Record was already at press when this announcement was made.
