My MO, the teen-oriented page in The Missourian now in its fifth year, will run in weekend editions throughout the school year until April 28-29, 2012.
Last year, My MO had a staff of about 20 teens from across Franklin County and surrounding areas who wrote stories, took photos and drew illustrations for the page. They came up with fresh story ideas, captured area happenings with their cameras and gave life to the teen page with their energy and enthusiasm.
Throughout the past few years, several My MO staff members received honors, awards and recognition for their involvement in the teen page. This past year, two staff members received national awards for their photography and illustration skills. My MO benefits teens by giving them hands-on experience with several aspects of journalism and involvement in the community.
It is important to note, though, that this page not just benefits My MO staff members. Young people are more likely to read a newspaper if it includes content geared toward them and that habit continues for the rest of their lives.
In order to continue to make My MO a success, we want to help these teen staffers make their time on My MO a great experience.
We are currently seeking sponsors to help fund My MO. We will run sponsors' display ads on the page.
My MO offers a sponsorship for $25 per spot per issue. (See PDFs under the Related Documents section for more info.)
Please consider investing in the future of My MO teens as well as all teens in this community.
