Three sisters, Cristy Campbell, Alexandria Stroup and Melissa Maune, have teamed up to offer parents a new state-licensed daycare option for newborns up to age 6.

The center is called 3 Sisters Daycare.

The converted home, located at 298 McMahon Automotive Drive, off Pottery Road in Washington, can accommodate 20 children and currently has five children enrolled.

Only four children under the age of 24-months will be accepted. Hours of 3 Sisters Daycare are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The sisters, all moms themselves, work with the children in child-centered curriculum. Each day, the group focuses on a new topic. The child chooses what they’re interested in to help them learn in a way that makes sense to them, Campbell explained.

The center provides meals with no artificial colors or dyes.

“We don’t do highly processed foods. We make almost everything from scratch using whole grains and whole wheat flour,” Campbell said.

Campbell added that 3 Sisters Daycare also uses organic products when possible.

“You don’t have an opportunity to start kids on a good diet again,” she said. “In the beginning you can teach them to eat healthy for the rest of their lives.”

Campbell said the daycare has the resources to provide curriculum, as well as one-on-one interaction with the children.

One unique aspect of the daycare is that children in the preschool class have Spanish lessons using Hooked on Spanish, which Campbell said is the best program available for children who can’t yet read.

Kindle Fire tablets are available in each age group so children can read interactive books.

The main goal is to provide a place where parents can feel good and safe to leave their children.

For children under age 2, the sisters use a phone app called Baby Connect to update parents in real time.

Parents can be updated each time their baby is fed, a diaper is changed and during nap time. The sisters also can upload photos for parents using the app.

In the next year, the sisters plan to install surveillance cameras so parents of preschool-aged children can log in and see what their child is doing.

Campbell also hopes to set up a computer station for the preschool class.
