Midwest Podiatry & Associates has opened in Suite 320 in the Mercy Medical Building, 851 E. Fifth St. in Washington.

The podiatrists offer treatment and relief for common foot problems such as plantar fasciitis, bunion, hammertoe, fractures, deformity corrections, tendon and ligament problems, chronic pain problems and diabetic foot care. They also offer surgery and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Visser moved his practice to the Mercy Medical Building from an office in downtown Washington where he had been practicing since 1982.

“The Mercy Medical Building brings convenience to our patients and allows a closer affiliation with the hospital and surgery department,” said Dr. Visser. “I think patients will be very happy with the change.”

Dr. Visser earned his doctorate in podiatric medicine (DPM) from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He is president of the Missouri Board of Podiatric Medicine and an instructor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine.

Among other achievements, he was named Podiatrist of the Year by the Missouri Podiatric Medical Association in 1995 and earned the Meritorious Service Award from the American Podiatric Medical Association in 1997. He is an international lecturer on foot health topics.

Dr. Johnson received a doctorate in podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington. He is a board certified foot surgeon and member of American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Missouri Podiatric Medical Association, among others.

Midwest Podiatry and Associates accepts most health insurance plans.
