Franklin County Is Buying New Financial Software

The Franklin County Commission Tuesday approved a $35,000 contract for new financial management software for the county clerk’s and county auditor’s offices.

County Clerk Debbie Door said the new software is needed because the county’s current provider is going out of business.

The contract, awarded to Logics LLC, Raleigh, N.C., was for the lowest bid the county received.

Door said her office and Auditor Tammy Vemmer’s office both reviewed the software prior to making their recommendation to the commission.

“I think this will work for us for years in the future,” Door said.

It isn’t clear how the county will pay for the software, but Vemmer said previously the county could use funds in the budget allocated for new computer servers, or use reserve and general fund money.
