Two Washington area teens were injured Saturday afternoon when the car they were in ran off Country Club Road and crashed, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.

Derrick T. Hillerman and Jacob W. Mohesky, both 16, were taken by Washington Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment of apparent moderate injuries, the patrol said.

Hillerman was driving a 2001 Buick southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The car ran off the left side of the road and struck several trees, according to the preliminary patrol report.

Hillerman was not wearing a safety belt but Mohesky was, the patrol reported.

The 4:33 p.m. crash happened four-tenths of a mile south of Country Club Lane, according to the report.
