An 11-year-old Washington boy was struck Thursday while crossing 14th Street before football practice.
Washington police said Paul Briggs got out of a vehicle on 14th Street west of Highway 47 at 5:49 p.m. when he walked between two parked cars and into the path of a 2003 Nissan X-Terra driven by Kong Wang, 16, of Washington.
Briggs was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington by Washington Ambulance. He had moderate injuries, police said.
Witnesses told Washington police Wang was not speeding before the vehicle struck the child.
