The Turnpike Troubadours concert scheduled for August 3, 2018 at the Washington Town & Country Fair has been canceled, according to the fair's website.
The band cancelled their fair appearance after accepting an offer to tour with Miranda Lambert. The band canceled all previously booked shows that overlap with the new tour dates.
“We are disappointed, definitely,” said Fair Chairman Brian Gildehaus.
The Turnpike Troubadours were scheduled to appear as part of a Red Dirt Triple Feature with Chris Knight, and Jason Boland and the Stragglers.
The rest of the night’s lineup remains intact, and fair officials expect to announce a replacement for the Turnpike Troubadours in the next few weeks.
“We did everything we could do to make something work out for a Turnpike Troubadours show at the fair this year,” said fair manager Jennifer Giesike. “While it is an extremely frustrating situation for our fair, we understand that the opportunity to be included with a tour of that magnitude would be hard to pass up.”
