Progress is being made at the site of the Washington Jaycees All-Abilities Park, currently under construction near Lions Lake.
Darren Dunkle, parks director, said the city is seeking bids for concrete, asphalt, fencing and signage. Bids are due Friday, Sept. 27.
Once bids have been received, the proposal will be brought to the city council for approval and the contract will be awarded.
Playground equipment and surfacing has been ordered through an interlocal contract approved by the city council earlier this year.
The equipment should arrive mid-October with the surfacing to follow in late October to early November, Dunkle said.
The city has installed a retaining wall and base rock and is working to install storm drains.
“Hopefully the weather holds out, because there are certain things that will be affected by the weather,” Dunkle said, noting that asphalt and surface tiles require a consistent temperature.
Dunkle updated the park board on the project Tuesday night.
