Entries are now being accepted for contests at the Washington Town & Country Fair.

Registration forms are available at washmofair.com or the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce office.

The Fair, now in its 89th year, will open Wednesday, Aug. 1, and run through Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Washington fairgrounds.

This year’s theme is “Your Bridge to Fun.”

Some contests accepted only a limited number of entries.

The deadline to sign up for contests requiring preregistration is Friday, July 13.

Not all contests require advance registration.

Kids’ Super Farmer Contest — Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 5:30 p.m.

Spaghetti Structure Building Contest — Thursday, Aug. 2, at 3 p.m.

Pig Chase Contest — Thursday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m.

Queen for a Day —  Friday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m.

Hippity Hop Contest — Friday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m.

Also new this year is bingo in the Family Fun Center Sunday, Aug. 5, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Fair Highlights

The Washington Fair will feature nine concerts on the Pepsi Main Stage and five nights of action in the motorsports arena.

On Wednesday, the annual queen contest will be held; Josh Wilson will be on the Main Stage; and Freestyle American Bullfighting will be in the motorsports arena.

Thursday’s highlights include Walker Hayes on the Main Stage and bronc and bull riding in the motorsports arena.

It will be a Red Dirt triple feature Friday night featuring Chris Knight, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, and Whiskey Myers on the Main Stage; and the Lucas Oil PPL Western Series Truck and Tractor Pull in the motorsports arena.

On Saturday, Jake Owen’s Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour, with special guests Jordan Davis and Chris Janson, will perform on the Main Stage; the Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction; and Field-Class and Pro-Stock Tractor Pull in the motorsports arena.

Sawyer Brown will be on the Main Stage Sunday, along with Stadium Motocross in the motorsports arena and the annual Brewfest & Wing-Ding.

Featured exhibits on the fairgrounds throughout the week will include glass blowing demonstrations, chain saw carving demonstrations, Canines in the Clouds stunt show, 20-ride Midway, Family Fun Center, Agriland and strolling entertainers.
